Japanese green tea (hot tea)?

Someone bought me a box that had in front that said japanese green tea, inside has 100 tea bags, and it says 100% natural. The back says, its a natural healthy brevage and excellent beverage choice for daily enjoyment. The last one I had was chinese green tea which had 100 bags and in the back it says it has alot of vitamins and its healthy for you. so im wondering does japanese green tea have vitamin c too? are these both the same or what?

Tea leaves contain it eitherway. Don’t take it seriously. It is not thing like supplement tabs. It is just sort of sales talk and eases your mind only.

Green tea has something called polyphenols, which are antioxidants and up to 100 times stronger than vitamin c.

green tea can be made from many different plants, so it depends

Basically if the tea colour is really green (not yellow), it should contain more vitamin C than Red (Black?) tea.

Chinese green tea and Japanese green tea, both use the word “green” but how to process the leaf is different. Most of Chinese green tea is more oxidised for flavour, so that Vitamin C might become less, but flavour might be stronger.

I bought a hot japanese green tea from a vending machine when was in Osaka. It tasted like peanuts kinda. I couldn’t stomach it.

I’m not too familiar with Chinese green tea, but it is different from Japanese green tea.

The Japanese green tea does contain vitamin C as well as other elements that are good for your health.

Beware of one thing, though. It contains a lot of caffeine, too. So if you are sensitive to caffeine, don’t drink it at night; you might have a hard time getting to sleep. (I wouldn’t be too nervous, though; tea-bag tea is generally not as strong as real leaf tea.) By the same token, you can use it to help you stay up.
